Coleman concedes race for Lt. Governor
Yesterday, Democrat Linda Coleman said she would not extend her campaign for Lieutenant Governor or seek a recount in the election.
Coleman said she had called Republican Dan Forest and conceded because she felt extending her campaign would not change the outcome of the election.
Coleman had, until today, to demand a recount in writing, as her margin with Forest was less than 10,000 votes out of almost 4.4 million casted, according to WITN.
A recount could cost up to $2.5 million, with counties paying for it, said Gary Bartlett, state elections board executive director.
